Traminette is a hybrid white grape variety originally bred at the University of Illinois in 1965. It is the result of a crossing between Gewurztraminer and Joannes Seyve 23.416. Joannes Seyve was named after its founder who was French biochemist. Traminette wines are known for being floral, fruity and sometimes spicy. This versatile wine can be made dry, sweet or anywhere in between.
