100% Chardonnay. Beautiful gold color with tiny, bubbles. Lightly French floral aromas with brioche toasty whisps, green apple, Bartlett pear, Meyer lemon cake. On the palate further expressions of tangerine, Carmel corn, vanilla, and almond skin. Brut off dry style, high acidty, and delicate efflorescence where the complexity registers and then lifts off your tongue. Good Lord!

Good Lord Blanc de Blancs is made in France in the Champagne region from the commune of Vertus, a village in the very south of Champagne. The winemaking utilizes techniques of the highest level of luxury. The wine is fermented and aged in French oak barrels. Only native yeasts are used during primary fermentation.

The grapes are from very old vineyards, over 60 years old, with small berries. Good Lord is 100% Chardonnay, made in a solera system with wine from 2004 to 2012. Traditionally cognac is used to dosage in Champagne. The dosage for Bless Your Heart is a secret, but rumor has it that part of it is composed of a tiny wee dram of Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon hand carried to Champagne.  This is a radical departure from tradition and is being recognized as a “game changer.” The result is a Champagne with incredible concentration, flavor and complexity.

Good Lord and Bless Your Heart complete the Southern Gothic Wine Collection inspired by Julian Van Winkle, original artwork by James Jean and articulated by Sissy Van Winkle.
