100% Telti-Kuruk. Pale straw in color, this expressive white opens with delicate white wildflower aromas layered over warm, honeyed tones. The nose evokes a canned fruit cup medley of pear, peach, pineapple, and mandarin orange which is lifted by bright citrus and a hint of wet stone minerality. On the palate, the wine expands with crisp yellow apple, passionfruit, pluots, all wrapped in a subtly creamy texture. This roundness is the result of bâtonnage, lending both richness and finesse. Though dry, the wine’s zesty acidity plays in dynamic tension with its intensity of flavors, culminating in a long, satisfying finish. Fresh yet layered, it’s a wine that lingers thoughtfully, puzzling the best of sommeliers.
The name Telti-Kuruk, meaning “foxtail,” was given by the Turks in reference to the shape of the grape clusters.
