Digging into Downtown Drinking:

The Archaeology of Wine and Beverages in Fredericksburg

Saturday Night, Sept 27th, 2025.

$40 per person. Get Tickets HERE

How historical is downtown Fredericksburg? Sure, the Founding Fathers passed through, but between political meetings and birthing a nation, what were they drinking—and gossiping—about? Archaeological sites dot the city, each with stories buried beneath the bricks and cobblestones. Dr. Kerri Barile Tambs, who has explored everything from her first dig in Market Square to recent excavations in Riverfront Park, will share fascinating tales of Fredericksburg’s past through artifacts and sites. Each story is paired with wines inspired by the libations our predecessors may have enjoyed, bringing history to life—one sip at a time. Wines provided by Jeremy Sutton from Kysela Pere Et Fils Ltd.
