100% Gamay Saint-Romain. Deep ruby in color. Aromas of violets, raspberry, red cherry, bramble, dried herbs, and savory sage. Continuing to the palate, flavor of herbal, raspberry jam, blackberry, blueberry, red currant, black plum, sage, thyme, blackberry jam, black pepper, wet stone, granite, eucalyptus, warm cinnamon, light oak and bread dough. This is a dry wine with medium acidity, medium-minus soft tannins, medium flavor intensity, with a medium finish. There is a fun, jammey energy that is different from Gamay from Beaujolais.
Food Pairing: herbed roasted chicken, grilled port tenderloin with blackberry glaze, charcuterie, lentil, eggplant parmesan, beet and goat cheese salad, Moroccan-spiced lamb, brie, aged gouda, mild stilton, gorgonzola.
