80% Grenache, 20% Syrah. Deep ruby in color. Shy aromatics at first then opens up with notes of raspberry, strawberry, black plum, blueberry, bramble, vanilla, chocolate, black pepper, jerky spice, earth, and tobacco. Woven into the flavors added dried herbs, white pepper, espresso, fig, earth, and warm clove. This is a full bodied, dry wine with medium acidty, medium plus, chalky tannins. The flavors do evolve, culminating to a medium plus intensity of flavors and a long finish. Gigondas has all the loveliness of a CDP with a touch more freshness.
