100% Susumaniello. Deep ruby in color. Wet earth aromas with lighter notes of smoky, blueberry, plum, red cherry, spices, and balsamic. More interesting on the palate, flavors of black cherry, mocha, coffee, black currants, blackberry bramble, vanilla, toast, mesquite, baking spice, licorice, and wet stone. This is a dry, medium plus acidity wine with medium plus smooth tannins culminating in a medium plus bodied wine. Flavors are of medium intensity and linger about medium plus length. Balance is driven by the fullness of body offered by the mature tannins and layers of textures that exist at different point of tasting.
Food Pairing: Ideal with traditional Puglia cuisine like orecchiette and broccoli rabe, pork chops in sauce. Beef braised in milk, steamed pork spareribs with black bean, venison chops and beetroot risotto. Cold cuts, pasta with Porcini mushrooms, BBQ and medium aged cheeses
