100% Sangiovese. Ruby color. Sour red cherry aromas with raspberry strawberry, oak, vanilla, oregano, an earthy component. Continuing to the palate, light notes of leather, baking spice, and balsamic. This is a dry, medium-plus acidity with medium-plus chalky tannins. This is a great grab and go everyday chianti with a pleasant good persistent medium body and medium finish.
Food Pairing: pizza and pasta of all sorts, tomato-based sauces, and all of those rustic garden herbs work beautifully. Mushrooms also have a particular affinity with Sangiovese — a creamy mushroom risotto is a match made in heaven.
