50% Petit Verdot, 50% Rebo (crossing of Merlot & Teroldego). Deep ruby in color. Violets mixed with lilac, cassis, black plum, blackberry, blueberry, bramble, blue fruit compote, earth, and dried herbs aromas. The complexity continues with flavors of black pepper, anise, vanilla cream, wet tobacco and finishes with cooked black cherry, gravel, soft wood finish. This is a dry wine with medium acidity, high-chalky tannins, full bodied, intense wine. It does need a bit of decanting to show flavor complexity.
Food Pairing: lamb stew, BBQ short ribs, gnocchi with bacon, caramelized BBQ pork, fried tortilla, mushrooms, black beans, pecorino, Manchego, smoked gouda, aged cheddar, aged gruyere
