90% Petit Sirah, 10% Syrah. Deep purple is so dark, its almost black in color. Bodacious aromas with bursting blackberries, blueberries, black plum, and black cherry. Further in is vanilla, cinnamon, clove, and light violet floral. Continuing to the palate, flavors of cacao, baking spice, fig, prune, black pepper, leather, and smoke. Balanced silky medium plus tannins, with intense concentration of flavors leading to a silky full bodied mouth feel. This is a dry wine, but the fruity notes make you think otherwise. Wrapping it up with a want to sip it again long finish.
Food Pairing: braised beef short ribs, grilled lamb with rosemary, pepper crusted steak, chicken mole, blue cheeseburger with caramelized onions, dark chocolate with sea salt, aged gouda, blue cheese, smoked cheddar, aged manchego.
