100% Lemberger (also known as Blaufränkisch), an Austrian red variety particularly well suited to cool-climate growing regions. Aromas of ripe cherry and plum lead into a juicy palate of red and dark fruit, with distinctive black pepper and subtle earthy notes. Dry with M+ acidity, M- soft tannins, M body, M flavor intensity and a M+ finish. Bright, peppery and wonderfully approachable, with lively fruit, gentle structure and a soft texture. Grown at Ox-Eye's high-elevation Shenandoah Valley estate, this is a lovely example of how Virginia's cooler mountain climate can bring freshness and balance to an Austrian classic.
