100% Pinot Noir. Medium ruby in color. Aromas of cranberry, strawberry, violets, forest floor, mushroom, and earthy undertones, with subtle notes of licorice, black pepper, and mild oriental spice. On the palate, flavors of red cherry, red currant, pie compote, cola, blueberry, blood orange, and hints of sweet mesquite, bread dough, vanilla, char, smoke, ume, and leather unfold with complexity. The wine is dry, with medium acidity, medium fine-grain tannins, and a medium body, delivering delicate but layered fruit intensity and a medium-plus finish. Polished and textural, Momtazi reveals classic Oregon “funk” of mushroom and forest floor with a velvety yet lifted texture, finishing floral and savory with hints of cocoa powder.
