100%  Merlot. Deep ruby-garnet in color with moderate rim variation. On the nose there are ripe aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and cassis with a touch of plum, accompanied by notes of tobacco, fennel, and subtle cedar from oak ageing; with some bottle age, hints of forest floor and earth may emerge. The palate shows concentrated flavors of blackcurrant, plum, and cassis, joined by savory layers of dried tobacco leaf and light mocha from French oak, while any developed traits lean toward dried plum and gentle leather. The wine is dry. Acidity is medium-plus, providing freshness and lift. Tannins are medium-plus to firm, with a fine, grainy texture that gives excellent structure without being harsh. The body is medium-full to full, with medium-plus intensity of flavor. The finish is medium-long, with lingering dark fruit and tobacco spice. Overall, the wine shows good balance and structure typical of a Cabernet-dominant Bordeaux-style blend from organically farmed Devon Valley soils, with sufficient acidity and tannin to age further.
