100% Tannat, grown at Honah Lee Vineyard in Orange County, Virginia, at 800 feet elevation. Aromas of dark berry, boysenberry and ripe plum lead into a rich, concentrated palate with layers of dark fruit, earthy undertones and subtle spice. Dry with M+ acidity, M+ firm, finely integrated tannins, M+ body, H flavor intensity and a long, persistent finish. Fully extracted over five weeks of fermentation, then aged 20 months in a combination of new and neutral barrels, including 15% Minnesota oak, followed by four years of bottle aging. Tannat is known for its powerful tannic structure, but time has brought this wine greater harmony, allowing the fruit, oak and structure to come together. A bold yet refined expression of Virginia Tannat, now showing the rewards of patience.

Food Pairing: Filet mignon, grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, lamb chops, venison, smoked brisket, wild mushroom dishes, aged Cheddar and Manchego
