‘Twas the ninth before Christmas, and all through City Vino,
the wine bottles were resting especially the Highway 12 Pinot.
The wine glasses were polished and placed on the tasting bar with care,
in preparation for this weekend when the customers would be there.
This week, City Vino is indeed twice thankful. We are first thankful for our staff, our customers, and club members for your support again this past year. We love to be able to expand our customer’s wine experiences by sharing wines from small producers and small lots that you will not find in a supermarket or a big chain wine shop. Being able to assist you to pick a bottle or two or twelve for your everyday table, family or friend gathering, or that incredibly special occasion, means so very much to us.
Yes, City Vino is writing about Italian wine again this Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving may be a United States holiday, but we just cannot ignore the fact that Italian wines make great pairings with our plethora of dishes on our respective dining room tables.
Did you see what we did there? The terms “variety” and “varietal wine” are often used interchangeably, and City Vino would like to help make somewhat of a distinction between the two terms.
The 1974 tune by Mac Davis, called “Stop and Smell the Roses,” has been hijacked by City Vino for our themed rosé tasting this weekend, which shall now be known as Stop and Smell the Rosés. Of course, our City Vino staff were not even a twinkle in our parent’s eyes in 1974
