Our selections of French wines include white wines, with some richness to them, that stand up to and complement your holiday dishes. Light-bodied white wines may get lost among the dishes, so we selected whites with a heavier body, to harmoniously pair with your Thanksgiving bounty.

• The best thing about cooking for Thanksgiving is that you get to open wine at 8:00 am.
• The most important ingredient to any Thanksgiving dish is adding wine to the cook.
• A day will come when we eat reasonably healthy foods in modest portions, but this Thanksgiving isn’t that day.

This weekend, Friday October 15 and Saturday October 16, City Vino travels the world with a destination of South Africa—specifically the area known as the coastal region. South Africa is the ninth-largest wine-producing market in the world. The country has about 230,000 acres of vines, producing 1.5 million tons of grapes (2021 harvest) of which 45 percent are red grapes and 55 percent are white grapes.
