This week, City Vino is indeed twice thankful. We are first thankful for our staff, our customers, and club members for your support again this past year. We love to be able to expand our customer’s wine experiences by sharing wines from small producers and small lots that you will not find in a supermarket or a big chain wine shop. Being able to assist you to pick a bottle or two or twelve for your everyday table, family or friend gathering, or that incredibly special occasion, means so very much to us.
Greetings from your friends at City Vino! We are here to provide gift-giving suggestions so you can “Spread the Holiday Cheer” to family, friends, colleagues, teachers, or even something for your own enjoyment at the dining room table.
The soulful voice of Ella Fitzgerald sang “Summertime and the livin’ is easy” and The Isley Brothers noted that “Summer breeze makes me feel fine.” Put on some summertime tunes, kick back, and enjoy the “Summer Breeze” (Seals & Crofts) along with a glass of wine.
This coming Sunday, May 9, 2021, is Mother’s Day, so let us raise a glass of wine and celebrate all the women in our live—whether they are a mother by birth, by adoption, or by their kind, caring, and nurturing spirit. Our suggestion is to toast moms with women-made wine or cider.
The dog days of summer are upon us, and that means we want to quench our thirsts with wines that have bright enough acidity to make our mouths water. We also want wines that pair with light meats, non-fatty fish, and salads that feature the summer’s bounty of fresh vegetables from our gardens or the local farmer’s market. Sauvignon Blanc fits the bill, and that is why we love it!
