This week, City Vino is indeed twice thankful. We are first thankful for our staff, our customers, and club members for your support again this past year. We love to be able to expand our customer’s wine experiences by sharing wines from small producers and small lots that you will not find in a supermarket or a big chain wine shop. Being able to assist you to pick a bottle or two or twelve for your everyday table, family or friend gathering, or that incredibly special occasion, means so very much to us.
Father’s Day is once again upon us, and to that we say, “Choose Red for ‘Fred’.” Pun totally intended. Whether your father is named Fred, George, Paul, Ringo, or John, this year consider the gift of a red wine, or two or twelve.
Malbec World Day is celebrated annually on April 17th. With Passover and Easter and other events going on, this variety’s special day was set aside, temporarily, at the shop. In the world of “better late than never,” we will be celebrating Malbec Word Day this coming Friday and Saturday, in-store, and will be featuring three Malbecs for your tasting enjoyment. To round out the tasting with a white wine, we will have Argentinian Malbec’s dear friend, Torrontés.
Love (of wine) is in the air and in your glass at City Vino this Pre-Valentine’s Day weekend. Join us in-store, as we showcase four wines to share with your love, or to drink to express your love of wine
This time of year, beautiful images circulate of bare wooded grapevines against the backdrop of snow-covered ground. Snow-covered ground isn’t an issue for the vines this time of year. The snow acts as a blanket and can protect the vine’s root systems from sub-freezing temperatures.
