Won’t You Take Me to Sparkle Town

Won’t You Take Me to Sparkle Town City Vino has borrowed and personalized the lyrics to the classic song by Lipps Inc, Funkytown, in honor of this week’s sparkling topic and tasting. Here goes:

Gotta try to find a sparkling wine that's right for me
City Vino keeps me tastin’
Keeps me tryin’ with some more bubbly

Twice Thankful

Twice Thankful This week, City Vino is indeed twice thankful. We are first thankful for our staff, our customers, and club members for your support again this past year. We love to be able to expand our customer’s wine experiences by sharing wines from small producers and small lots that you will not find in a supermarket or a big chain wine shop. Being able to assist you to pick a bottle or two or twelve for your everyday table, family or friend gathering, or that incredibly special occasion, means so very much to us.

“Hark,” it’s Virginia Wine Month

“Hark,” it’s Virginia Wine Month It is not the season of the year, yet, where the word “hark” is used freely in word and song, but in this case “Hark” is quite appropriate to this week at City Vino and to October, which is Virginia Wine Month.
Our timely “Hark” in this situation is Hark Vineyards, in Earlysville, Virginia

October Makes Fredericksburg Go Round

October Makes Fredericksburg Go Round So many events, so little time, friends. We have your events here! This past Saturday marked the beginning of October, and that means it is once again yes, Virginia, its Virginia Wine Month. This month vineyard crews, cellar rats, harvest interns, assistant winemakers, and winemakers themselves are spending long grueling hours harvesting their fruit, getting it fermented and turned into wine before it gets its rest over the winter. For the Virginia wine fans, there are lots of events including harvest festivals, wine dinners, bonfires, live music, food trucks, and even a few opportunities to stomp on grapes a la Lucy in Italy. (You know that you want to. Just admit it.)
